website PAGE 1President’s NoteWe are reaching the pointy end of the season punctuated by carnivals and State Champs. This means a lot of work for committees and volunteers. So, please give your AGMs, sports leaders, administrators, officials, mates a pat on the back and make their lives easier by being prompt and pleasant.
We pride ourselves at Henley for fairplay and inclusiveness. Also, ensure you are kitted out properly for competitions. State is very particular with the brightness of your rashie singlet, so get a Big H on your chest in fluro pink.
The Member Draw is back, with our first winner Jack. Head up to the Club Rooms on Friday’s to enjoy the camaraderie, a great selection of food and drinks and the chance to win! There has been a good turnout of families and members, so come down and meet new people, let the kids run wild on the beach as you look on from the balcony… this week you could go home with $100.
My priority this season has been ensuring we are on the right track with our finances. Jeff Mews and the team has done an amazing job. We are now using Surf Life Saving SA to handle our accounting, saving us money, and we are well on the way to pay off the GST debt. This doesn’t mean we are clear yet, though, so we must keep up our fundraising efforts.
Lastly, through our Bendigo Bank partnership and David Cassidy securing grants, we were able to replace the entire solar array on the roof. This will help with our power bills and our commitment to help the environment. It’s a great win.
See you on the beach,
Jim.
