President’s Note



A new year, on that will include our centenary celebrations, and we are gearing up for state and national championships.

I’d also like to use the start of 2025 to once again outline my priorities. At the top, as has been the case for the past 18 months is finance. I am pleased to say that through massive hard work and the sublease to Ocean we will pay off our long-standing GST debt by the end of the surf season. This means we can then begin to pay down our two other debts – one to Surf Life Saving SA and another to the Kanini Foundation. So, although we are doing much better, we are by no means out of the woods.

This means that as membership payments slow down at end of season, we need to increase our fundraising efforts. The BBQ is doing a great job, but we need more. I ask all club members to get behind our fundraising Direct Collect and the Surf Life Saving home lottery. It’s easy and we get a big percentage of sales.

We will also sell raffle tickets and other fundraising things at the upcoming Fleetwood Mac show at Ocean. If anyone would like to work the door and sell tickets, please get in touch.
